Clara Avenarius
About
Clara practices primarily juvenile law and criminal defense.
Clara was the Associate Editor of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law and participated in ABA Moot Court. Clara worked in the Criminal Defense Legal Clinic and interned at the Story County Attorney’s Office. She also worked as a Law Clerk at Branstad & Olson before joining the team as an attorney.
During law school, Clara was the Associate Editor of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law and was on the ABA Moot Court Team. Clara worked in the Criminal Defense Legal Clinic and interned at the Story County Attorney’s office. For most of law school, Clara worked as a law clerk at Branstad & Olson, before joining our team as an attorney after passing the Iowa Bar.
Clara received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Drake University in 2020 and her Juris Doctorate from Drake Law School in 2023.
Clara’s time outside the office is usually spent with her dog Mazie, finding cool spots in Des Moines with her friends, and doing yoga.
